BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

- Analysis of ESD phenomena and of their incidence in telecommunications;

- ESD protection in different stages of telecommunications product drawing up;

- Electrostatic charge control in telecommunications centers.

It is mainly aimed to draw up some practical protection models and to define some recommendations for critical sections, from ESD point of view, inside the large field of telecommunications. Measurements will be performed and data will be collected in telecommunications centers, all these will result finally in a useful data base for corrections, case studies and consultancy.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

One of the main and dominant radiating sources is the antenna formed by the fact that different parts of a larger system are not identical equipotential level, and hence start to radiate. The same geometry and configuration acts also as a receiving antenna, reducing the immunity level of the system. By careful equipotential design (including cable trays), these common mode RF problems can highly be reduced.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The objective of the project is, based on the ongoing research, to obtain a general insight into the state of art in the area of electromagnetic fields effects and the respective standards, to stimulate multidisciplinary collaboration among experts in different fields: medicine, biology, electrical engineering etc. The application of numerical methods for EMF distribution determination within biological materials have resulted in better knowledge of field and eddy currents distribution in the very realistic human head model developed for this purpose. The analysis of different field measurement methods applicable in real environments has been started. Research of near field personal dosimetry problem and RF effects related to mobile communications devices applications are in progress.

Development, use and comparison of numerical methods for EM field distribution calculation in lossy dielectric materials, antenna near/field calculation, especially near dielectric screens, field distribution calculation in the applicators, similarities and difference of EM field effects on low frequency and in the field mobile telephony, in the field of measurements, estimation of risk and recommendations.

Investigators have published papers on numerical EM field computation and influence of EM field on humans.
